Summer has certainly announced itself in Canterbury these last couple of weeks, so here at EAT we’ve got our Summer newsletter all ready for you ahead of the silly season.

Inside you’ll find six pages of tips, advice, support and news, including thoughts about how to manage Christmas from Ellie van de Gronde, one of our Youth Counsellors. There’s also a fantastic piece from Bridget about her experiences with eating difficulties and how writing and creativity have effected positive change in her life. The newsletter is at the bottom of this post. If you’d like to subscribe to the newsletter, just send an email with ‘Subscribe’ in the subject line to: eat@chch.planet.org.nz

If you’d like to check out another great NZ web resource, take a look at EDEN’s website. EDEN  is non-profit community agency based in Auckland. EAT and EDEN are currently working on developing some collaborative projects together, which we’ll keep you posted about. In the meantime, take a look at their great site for information and support.

EAT are once again running our olive oil fundraiser with the folks over at The Village Press. The last fundraiser was a huge success, and we’re running it again due to all the requests we’ve been fielding for more olive oil! $40.00 from each case goes directly to EAT to help us maintain our free professional counselling, education and support service. Every purchase really does help us and the olive oil is superb! You can find the order form here. Alternatively, email your order details to us EAT: eatingawareness.funding(at)gmail.com

All the best for a fantastic Summer!

Love,
The Eating Awareness Team.

EAT is running a fundraiser in conjunction with the fabulous people at Village Press Olive Oil.

This offer is fantastic, since the prices are well below RRP, and comparable to common imported oil brands available in supermarkets, yet this is high quality NZ grown and produced extra virgin, first- and cold-pressed olive oil.

Proceeds will go directly to EAT to contribute to our work with people with eating difficulties and body image issues.

You can read about the offer here:
EAT Fundraising Offer

This leaflet gives you more information about olive oil terminology:
Village Press Olive Oil Information

If you’re interested in participating,  here is the order form for print and return:

Payment is required at the time of order – by cash, cheque or direct bank deposit (details available on request).

Orders close 3rd May.

The olive oil will be available for pick up/delivery from Christchurch around the 12th May, so this offer is probably best suited to those living in Canterbury.

December Newsletter

We’re a bit slow off the mark getting this newsletter on the web, but here it is nonetheless. Even though many of the tips are focussed around coping during the holidays, they’re ideas that can be helpful at any time. Have a read of ‘The Year of No D’s’ on the last page for inspiration!

The next newsletter will be out in April.

Just a reminder that the first auction listings begin to close in 15 minutes! Thanks for all your support so far and happy bidding!
